Fellows,
Back to work after spending a bit of time in the shop getting the 54 NAA assembled. It is running pretty good after a two year rebuild process but I still need to check the timing with a light, maybe adjust carb and find out why my alternator is not charging.
The question I have has to do with my carb/Gov linkage I think. when I throttle the engine up the throttle lever will hold engine RPM's at 12 or 13 hundred. Past this, it seems the governor pushes the throttle linkage back to this point when I run her up to any higher. She will hold whatever RPMs I choose if I keep my hand on the throttle but will run back down to 1200 or so when I let go. I checked out the friction plate but something tells me it has to do with the governor.
All thoughts, opinions appreciated.
