I gave you an incorrect description of how the to plumb the connections on the pressure relief valve. The picture below shows the plumbing on my home made 3pt boom sprayer:

1) Flow from the pump enters on the right and goes through the filter and on to the control valve which has three connections plus a port for a pressure gauge.
2) The pressure regulator is crewed in to the open center on the control valve and has a return line up to the tank
3) The flow out from the control valve goes to the spray boom
4) There is also a tee connection and ball valve on the pump side of the control valve for a handheld spray gun.

When the control valve is OFF all of the output from the pump is sent to the tank return by the pressure regulator. When the control valve is ON a pressure regulated portion of the flow is sent to the sprayer tips on the boom and any excess flow is sent to the tank return. Same for the handheld spray gun.

I believe the pressure regulator that I linked for you also has a third connection for a pressure gauge. The pressure gauge port on my rig is in the control valve. If you are not using a pressure gauge you would plug those ports (usually comes with a plug already installed).

Sorry for the confusion,

TOH
