Tyler... a no start problem due to a loose ring gear , IMHO, has no relation to a real ignition problem where the engine does turn over via starter, but has some electrical issue that may or may not be solved by addition of an electronic module. I don't think there should be a problem pointing that out and explaining the difference for clarity, since these posts will be archived to help future readers searching for info. There are many newbies out there that are instructed to upgrade to an EI to solve all sorts of problems starting. I'd hate for an inexperienced new user to go out and pay 60-150$ for an electronic ignition only to find out that his ring gear is still lose and he either needs to bandaid fix it with some welds thru the starter hole.. or split his tractor and repalce it, check the clutch and repalce the trans front seal.. etc. I feel it's pretty fair advice. :)
