When I bought (traded labor) the 8N from the original owner who was a Ford tractor engineer at Dearborn back in 1940-1950 in 1979, one of the first things to do was have the radiator flush out. Since that time, I've flushed the radiator three times over those years, and added fresh antifreeze each time. I'm replacing both upper and lower hoses, and still use this old thermostat.
