Yep, Ditzler was the primary paint supplier for FMC. Ditzler was a PPG company during the 50's-60's when the red Ford Tractors were produced. Not into how or when it was absorbed by PPG, then DuPont? I really do not think that there is an argument as to when the Ford Tractor color changes were made either. Mostly the confusion comes from NH info. NH sells red and gray paints correct for 39 thru 62. All must take that notion with a grain of salt. All 8N's and 100 series Tractors were painted the same red and gray. The 101 series carried the lighter orange red (or I should say orangier red) and lighter gray than the 8N/100 colors. For those interested you do not have to buy the $150 a gallon red Centari paint to use John Smiths red color. They now can mix an excellent DuPont paint very suitable for tractors at a lot lower cost than Centari.
