Considering a ratchet was not intended to be used as a breaker bar, it should last a life time. If you, like a few million others, utilize a ratchet for breaking fasteners loose then the life expectancy will be reduced. This is especially true with the fine tooth ratchets such as your looking at. Yes, proper tool usage is a pita. That is why that near useless breaker bar is in the bottom of the tool box. Somewhere in my collection is the never ever used 1/4 inch breaker bar along with the seldom seem 3/8 inch and the one or two broken 1/2 in breaker bars. That is called too cheap to get the 3/4 drive until recently. I was eyeing a $12 1/2 inch Harbor freight bender bar yesterday. I say bender bar because at $12 how far do you think it will go before it breaks? Somewhere around here is a working 1/2" breaker bar.
Along with that nice long handled flex head 1/2 inch Craftsman ratchet. That also doubled as a breaker bar in the past, say it ain't so.
