Gas for lawnmowers gets stale if left for 6 months.This was before ethanol was put in the gas.My father in law would drain the gas in mowers that wouldnt start in May.Some fresh gas would start engines with stale gas.He put the stale gas in his chevy pick up.If your gas smells like old paint brushes its stale.Then there is the problem of seasonal gas.Winter blends are more volatile to make for easy starting.In any case you should not store gas over winter.Its just dangerous.....
