I have several nailers and staplers, good ones and cheap ones.
Like tractors they are all a bit different. They all work fine, but the staplers are more tempormental..
I have had Craftsman ones the longest 20+ years, and they never have failed.
I keep a small one loaded with small nails and a big one loaded with big nails.
Same thing with the staplers. I do not like to have to load and unload different sizes.
They are not that expensive and I find having different sizes real handy.
Finish nails are more interchangeable then staples. When I bought the cheap stapler for osb and wood crafts, I bought a bunch of the different length staples, and I am glad I did. I do not have to worry about finding ones that fit.
Framing nailers are a whole different story, all have different heads and different nails. I like my Bostich full head framing nailer, it takes 8d to 16d nails just fine and they are easy to find.
