Some of you may be familiar with the old adage of classic trucks, where you don't clean the caked on grease/oil because that is what's plugging the leaks, right? Well, case in point I think...I put some WD-40 on some of the hinge components of my 8N, including the throttle lever. It operates much smoother against the quadrant plate now, but I think I made it too loose... When I move the throttle lever up to about 1/2-3/4 range, the engine will rev up, but when I let go of the lever, it 'snaps' back down to idle; doesn't hold at desired throttle position. Is my quadrant plate too worn out to hold the lever, or did I fix it "too good" with the lubrication?
