Sorry for the "plagiarism" , it was meant as a cut n paste on the subject w/ a link to the original article . I'll try better to include a disclaimer .

I don't believe every thing I read on the Internet , and this article which was obviously someones opinion , would need parts to be verified or discredited . It looked like an interesting article on the subject .

With today's media , I don't even believe the manufacturers claims as being 100% accurate . Just google an oil filter manufacture and see if they don't claim the best . They make it hard to do any verification short of buying a bunch of filter and independently testing .

As you have said , its history , so I don't think I will spend the time to learn all of the "whys" things work on dual points . I have a pile of Mallory dp distributors but there is no need and the market price is too low to spend the time selling them .

This is a great board that helps everyone ( who wants to ) learn the reasons whys a system works . Then the owner is actually repairing his Tractor instead of throwing money at it until the problem is solved .

One interesting side note , as I read an article on daul points , sometimes the performance is only precieved as better because the expectaions were higher . In this case I would assume a fresh tune up would have performed equally as well .

I had a buddy back in high school add headers and a 2x4 to his Z28's stock motor . He was the only one that though it went faster , he he .
