Your cylinders are numbered correctly, 1,2,3,4 from front to back. Your distributor terminals are also numbered correctly based on where each plug wire goes.

These tractors can be a bit sensitive to the timing being off. Most likely cause of timing being off is point gap being set wrong. Some sets of replacement points may even be made wrong. If the rubbing block isn't exactly in the same position as the old points, it can change the timing. Another issue is distributor wear. If the distributor bushings are worn, it allows the distributor shaft to wobble around and makes it impossible to set the point gap correctly.
