The I&T manual contains a lot of good info not in the books plus it has the procedures for doing the work yourself. Many of us N owners have a copy of the Operator's Manual, the I&T F-04 Manual; and the '39-'52 Master Parts Catalog. We still haven't determined exactly what model you have. The info in the video, though attempting to be sincere, and in part is correct, but many parts were swapped out on a lot of these old tractors so those two examples aren't justification you have a 2N. If you can go to John Smiths site as Steve posted below, and read about the early N's that would be a start. Finding the serial number will be a big step too. A better quick ID test is to see if the tractor has a 3-speed or 4-speed transmission. 9N's and 2N's had the 3-speed, the 4 speed was introduced when the 8N came out in July, 1947. HTH
