Dave-
OK we will assume you have a Ford N-Series Tractor of some sort so let's go from there. First, you have water in your system. The 'milky' color of the hydraulic oil is the giveaway. You need to do a system flush -see our HOW-TO's forum for a ton of good advice on do-it-yourself maintenance projects. If you have an 8N or later, the bobbing may be because you have the system in DRAFT CONTROL MODE. Under the seat on your right hand side there is a little lever. Is it up or down? If down it is in DRAFT CONTROL mode. Switch it UP for POSITION CONTROL. Now, if you have kept the tractor parked all winter in a cold climate, especially outside, and are just now using it, chances are you got water into it that way but you may have more serious problems now. If the water froze and you tried to use the hydraulic system, the possibility that you cracked the hyd pump are greater. You'll need to do a cylinder check too after you clean out the system to verify if there is leaking from the piston and cylinder. If so, you will have to pull teh top cover off and inspect further replacing the piston with a new NAA piston and O-Ring. Earlier N's used a piston with three steel rings but the NAA piston will fit those models and is a better design with teh rubber O-Ring and teh leather back-up washer. If the cylinder is scoured badly, it won't seal good so it may be time for a new one. read the Tutorials and ask questions...
