If your back blade is lowering in 1-2 hour you have a small leak some place. If you didn't have other problems, I would say leave it alone. But that small leak could be causing your "hiccups". Popping off the top cover to replace the O-ring and backup washer on the piston is not too bad a job. Hard part is lifting the top cover off and getting it back on. An engine hoist will be your best friend unless you have good strong help available.

I think I would give it a try. Your call. Everything you need is in the lift cover gasket kits that are available. Unless you are anal like me and use the CNH backup washers.

Also, while you are in there replace the cam follower pin unless it is like new. Now is the time to do it.

One thing to keeping in mind, you may get this back together and still have the hiccups. Happened to me.
