if the double sector starts turning WAY befor ethe single sector.. you have too much sector backlash. on the early box you rotate the round cover to snug it.. if you hav eno adjustment left.. may be time for bushings.. OR if not.. check the sector gears.. are the teeth excessively worn? I have a 2000 that had teeth almost pointed. :)
