preload ont he thrust bearings is set by the shimstack. no preload.. and excess thrust play will let the wormshaft travel and beat the bearings up.
too much prelaod will reduce bearing life.
not much in there. 2 bearings.. top bushing/bearing. wornshaft and ballnut.. and a single and double sector.
