I discovered the pie weight trick earlier this season (after installing a bunch of weights of course), but the real reason for the missing weight is that a very old bolt is broken off in that hole, and I haven't gotten around to drilling it out yet. And I'm 5 weights short of a full set. The other side is missing the rest but that tire is loaded so it doesn't need as much weight. The right side tire sprung a leak and I haven't put any fluid back in it after the tube repair, so extra pie weights help.
Thanks for pointing out the pie weight trick though, as it may help someone else. I didn't even think about it before, and had always gotten lucky on the alignment until this year.
