My guess is you might have a 2 fold issue to look at.
Quadrant and ball on shaft.
Although mines a 2N and not a 8N I had same issue with my quadrant being worn.
I used a dremal and grinding stone to redo groves but same issue.
Turned out throttle shaft was worn flat also.
Ground a radius back on shaft and no more issue.
