You may be correct about the early wings, but there were also 2N parts (2N-13472-A1 and 2N-13473-A1) released in early October 1943 that were cast iron (malleable) and used 5/16-24 mounting bolts. They may have been needed in response to wartime shortages of zinc. This is the only version of 13472 and -473 drawing that has survived in the aperture card files, as it was the survivor in service parts ("R" in border of drawing).
