Well I'm out of work for another week :-( so time to pull a chair out and take a break. After seeing TOH use a counter sink I thought I would give it a try. Anybody know where my countersinks went? I used a coupler nut to hold a 8-32x3/8 brass screw in the lathe and touched it with a #6 drill bit sharpened at a 118° and it worked almost perfect. I think we are over thinking this. Like Tim says it shouldn't take much to catch that spring and hold it in place.
