Anybody have PPG paint codes for 8N gray & red?

I bought a NOS battery tray and a NOS worklight mount at the Ruddock auction and I stopped off at the PPG store today to have them shot on the color computer. The store manager suggested, in a nice way, that PPG had codes for just about everything and thet he would give a call to PPG tech service. He did, and they then mixed up small test batches and the gray was way too light and the red kinda light colored but passable. He wound up calling tech service back again and they told him that they had given him their codes for "Ford Tractor Red" and "Ford Tractor Gray". That was the way that it showed up in their reference manual or computer or whatever - no reference to year or model number.

We went back to the drawing board and computer shot the two NOS parts which is what I had wanted to do in the first place. Then they made up samples. The match is pretty much perfect. The store people seem really nervous about mixing to the color match, though, because the guy kept telling me that "those parts are 60 years old and likely faded".

Does anybody have PPG color codes that they know to be correct for 8N Red and 8N Gray?

I am probably going to go ba**s out on the '52 8N and shoot it in urethane. The folks at PPG are trying to shame me into moving up from acrylic. Any advice on painting with urethanes would be appreciated. It is pricey and they recommend shooting urethanes with a "one use" respirator which costs $20.00 and then must be thrown away.

Thanks, guys.
