ZANE and JMOR, I just pulled apart the lift cover off of my 8n today. I found that the shaft was completely rusted to part #70. After a little heat from the torch it came apart. After a little cleaning and emory cloth and antiseize it moves correctly. I am waiting for some gaskets to show up before it goes back together. Thanks for the info. I am going to remove the pump also to clean all the sludge from the bottom of the sump. Any suggestion of removing the pump. Thanks again!!
