All 8N hoods had Ford script stamped into the steel on both sides plus an emblem attached to the nose. If your emblem is missing you should have two empty holes where the emblem pins go.
The fact you have a grille screen on the side of the hood tells me you do NOT have a 9N/2N hood. So that leaves the possibility that you have an aftermarket replacement hood. Many of those do not have the Ford script due to the manufacturer not wanting to pay licensing fees to Ford.
