Thanks a million for the advice. I agree with you on how to wire up the 8 volt alternator without any advice. My thinking was to install the 8 volt alternator, use the same 6 volt wiring I installed last year, remove the 6 volt voltage regulator, remove the three wires (field, armature, and ground) from the generator and wiring harness. Make a 12 guage wire going from the one wire post of the new alternator to the bottom post on the terminal block. This would replace the yellow wire from the (B) post on the regulator to the terminal block.
Is this your the way you would do it?
