Got this generic classic graphic from you last year and have it tacked to the cork board for easy viewing, ever since.
For some reason the two VRs have different terminal layouts and is confusing.
type A, bat is on the left, type B bat is on the right
type A ,arm is on the center, type B is on the left
type A, field is on the left, type B is on the center
Believe the polarization physics is a function winding iron core direction, polarity of the iron core, direction of rotation to determine the polarity of the output armature terminal. i know the generator does not have rare earth permanents magnets but the iron material holds a polarity orientation for some time.
Believe this to be true
If the armature terminal is negative while generator is rotating clockwise the battery is parallel with the generator with + grd.
If the armature terminal is positive while generator is rotating the battery and generator work in series with + grd.
This condition undesirable since resultant excessive current will burn out the field windings.
