Tim- My tractor is s/n 8N33018 and the casting number on the block is I177. Almost 15thousand units apart, but the block was probably done near the same batch only ten units away. Shows how random the component selection or storage was. Interesting.
When I spoke with the media blasting guy yesterday he said the paint came off in layers with the top (New Holland Ford Red) being a lighter color followed by a darker red and then another color, but I did not catch the last color as I was busy winching it onto my trailer. I'm sure they must have used some primer.
Also regarding your e-mail and the radiator cap. All of mine have a brass spring plate and a wide gasket material which altogether should cause the cap to be snug. I had a radiator filler problem on mine that required a new top to make it fit properly.
