Here is a shot of where I have the clutch pedal situated when fully depressed:

I could adjust the pedal to be closer to the foot rest.

Here is a shot of the linkage. I don't see any slippage on the shafts. The eyebolt if fully screwed in to the top position, but could be backed off a lot.

In any event, it doesn't seem to matter where the adjustment is set, the pedal behaves the same way. When I depress it, I feel no spring before it stops. It just hits the wall and doesn't release the disc.
