Thanks Bruce. The distributor was serviced last summer when the I/O switch was left on. Burnt points were replaced with NAPA Echlin parts and at that time I was unable to obtain a 0.015” gap using the eccentric screw.
The bushings seemed OK and I decided to remove the eccentric as an expedient.
I never did measure the lobes or flats on the dist cam at the time, just set up the timing and gap per the FO-4 and she purred until I parked her in October.
Got back home at the end of January and it was really chilly in the shed and she didn’t want to start so well. I pulled the dist again and so forth, but it is awkward without the eccentric. (think carefully next time)
Anyhow, Ebay has a page full of complete aftermarket distributors 9n12100 from $99 to $200, all with the same exact image. Are they functional and are they the same manufacturer?
