I don't thing the "wings" became available until 1941. I have a couple pictures known to be taken in 1939 that show 9N's with two lights and one light neither had wings. I have a pair of early dog legs that have no provision for lights. By that I mean the hole that was pre punched/almost. But then I had my gallbladder removed less than 12 hours ago so the drugs may have me confused a little.
