Tractor stalling

Have about 20 hrs on my new to me 49 8n, ran perfectly. Housed under roof. Started to stutter and die after about 1 hrs into hogging. Started back up and died stuttered and died again and again. opened fuel shutoff about 12 turns, shut down and opened 2 turns. Ran another hour perfectly, then started doing same. Ideas appreciated
