Most (or all) of what you say may be 100%, but here is what was on my 8N in 1968 (and since) and it does raise the cap by 0.097 inch, part of it fits down in distributor (except 0.097 lip, both dust shield and cap are keyed such as to prevent rotation. The additional height causes no problems as the posts inside are machined such that rotor will be just fine at varying heights within reason.
