I'm selling a Ford Jubilee tractor for my father-in-law. Someone looked at the tractor today and noticed what appears to me to be a factory hole (its edges are smooth) about 1 1/4 inches diameter between the engine and transmission on the left side of the casting. When I looked in with a flashlight, I saw what appears to be the clutch. This fella's Jubilee doesn't have the same port and he is concerned that someone has modified & damaged the tractor. Does anyone have any thoughts? (I'm not sophisticated enough to post the photos I've taken but the hole is slightly ahead of and a few inches above where the clutch shaft emerges from the left side of the casting.)
