That scan is page 31 copied stright from your 1954 owner's manual - see title page from that manual below. I read far more complex technical documents than that owners manual for a living and they paid me quite well for it so I'm thinking my reading comprehension skills are OK. There are four separate gear/hydraulic oil specifications given on that page:

Transmission: Use mild extreme pressure lubricant SAE 80 both summer and winter.
Rear axle: Use mild extreme pressure lubricant SAE 80 both summer and winter.
Hydraulic sump:Fill the system with 9 quarts of M-4864-A hydraulic oil at temperatures above 10F. At temperatures below 10F use 7 quarts of M-4864-A and 2 quarts of M-4864-D hydraulic oil

According to the Ford lubricants brochure I posted earlier and which you referenced in a preceding post Ford M-4864-A is a "mild EP SAE 80 hydraulic oil. That same brochure describes M-4864-D as "Ford hydraulic loader oil". It does not provide an SAE grade designation for the M-4864-D loader oil but given that they are telling owners to mix it with an SAE 80 hydraulic oil for use in "EXTREMELY COLD" conditions I think it is safe to say it is THINNER than the SAE 80 oil. Nowhere on that owner's manual page is it specifying Ford M-4864-B (SAE 90) oil for any of the sumps. All specifications are SAE 80 grade oil or thinner.

So now you cite a new document - the Ford Shop Manual. If you think it says something different than the owner's manual please be so kind as to post a scan or link to that documentation so that i may see what it says. Until you do we will simply have to take your word for what it says and based on your incorrect reading of the owner's manual that is a bit problematic for me.
