Here's a case where you should be glad that converted to 12V (as an originality nut I am biting my tongue as I say this). I am pretty sure that two headlights, two worklignts and a tailight would have stressed out the original genny.
I have a low serial number '39 9n with the original small "A" generator. It never had headlights installed (or any other light). I am convinced that the addition of headlights and worklights and so on fried many of the original small "A" and "B" generators. I have been told that the dealer was supposed to advise you back then that the genny could handle ONE headlight - period. The "C" model genny was larger and was designed to handle TWO headlights.
With an alternator, all bets are off. More capacity that you would ever need unless you put a PA system on the tractor.
