The Rustoleum sunrise red experienced a color change when subjected to 300F
for 1 hour.
According to rustoleum this paint is rated up 200F
The color changed to match more closely to IH violet red.
The radiator caps usually are rated between 13-15 psig.
At sea level water boils(vaporizes) at 212F ,which is 14.7 psi or 1 atmosphere
at 15 psig(14.7 psi + 15 psi) water boils at 250F, if ethlene glycol is added to the water the boiling point is raised above that of water.
Since coolant is flowing through the cyclinder cover would agree that the maximum
surface temperature should be less than 250F.
