To clear up some misunderstandings here, there is some other numbers/letters stamped on the 1-1/4" length x 1-1/2" round thermostat... Those are #9N-8575-A3, and code B739.
Also to clear up something regarding the age of the thermostat. I traded labor...about $5,600.00 worth building Mr. Thomas a 36' x 36' garage to hold his six N tractors. He had seven tractors in a large storage room at his Ford Tractor dealership...two 9N's, two 2N's, two 8N's and a NAA that he bought, stole, or somehow obtained when he worked at Dearborn. The 8N that I ask to pick from probably had about 15 hours on the engine, etc. I would be willing to bet, the 8N I have didn't have the thermostat replace, when it still had the original fan belt, spark plugs, distributor, and rotor with the Ford Motor Company logos.
