Keith: "I was was not asking for any help, but ...."
Really? You sure fooled me! But then again, since I do not know sheet from Shinola, I guess I might not recognize a question???

really want to ge this polarization thing correct
AND
Is the above correct, want get it right!
I, JMOR, gave a fully & detailed explanation and you rebutted it & posted numerous incorrect & misleading statements that could have easily caused anyone paying attention to those statements all kinds of trouble & costs. There was so much mis-information in your posts that it wasn't worth all the time & trouble to correct each & everyone, so I suggested that all you posted be disregarded & still do.
"Just because you read on the internet does not mean it is valid." You did get that part right!
...and today, you do seem to support my position with your mild understatement "my own research on the subject of polarization on dc generator circuits on Ford vechicles is problamatic." Yes, to say the least. It was not likely the 'research' but rather the blanket application of various factual findings & failure to associate such findings with the particular unit in question.
P.S.
It is not necessary to disassemble the generator in order to determine whether "A"-ckt or "B"-ckt.
You say, "I do know that later models of FORD used the internal grounded field coil where the field wire is jumped to the battery for polarization. " AND SO DID THE VERY FIRST OF THE 1939 FORD TRACTORS.
Additionally, the use of "Internally Grounded" as a term to replace Type "A" or "B"-ckt leaves an ambiguity in that the single terminal generator used on most 9N and 2N tractors (2N10000, 9N10000B, 9N10000C) is BOTH Internally Grounded AND Internally Sourced. Whereas the term "EXTERNALLY SOURCED" field will remove the ambiguity. It is unique to the "B"-ckt.
Oh, and by the way, those single terminal generators DO in fact require polarization in order to establish output voltage as positive or negative, just like all the other N generators require polarization for that purpose.
In closing, the one thing you can bank on about me, is that I only make hard statements of fact when I KNOW them to be exactly that, fact. If in any doubt what so ever, I say so plainly as in, "I believe this to be true, hopefully someone will come along that can verify it".
Yes, ..."to freely share KNOWLEDGE and EXPERIENCE" is a good thing.
