OK, Keith, I and others have tried to help you, but you seem more into wanting to debate than anything else. There are so many things wrong with your last post, that I will not even begin to address them. If you "know" all that you posted, then why did you come asking questions? I see that you have a 1948 8N all torn down & not running.
Too bad. Maybe the electrics are still connected, I hope. If so, please go out and do your last posted "Ford polarization procedure" on it where you jumper GEN/BATT to field, because I will enjoy a picture of that smoke much more than I would have the cigar anyway. Please have video camera rolling!
Keith's words:"Your diagram showing the voltage regulator and generator is inconsistent with the manual. You show the A type generator being jumpered from the battery hot side to the "armature" rather than the "field" as indicated by the manual. This is incorrect for the FORD type voltage regulator."
More of Keith's words: "Answer: With a two terminal cut out switch, NO polarization is required." All wrong.
For any one finding these postings by Keith, please protect your equipment by ignoring them or jump off the cliff at your own risk.
